Guide to Batteries in the InTrack System

A guide to changing and charging batteries in the InTrack indoor positioning system.

Changing Batteries

The tag pendant and each anchor use a single rechargeable battery installed in the back.  When battery charge is low, a red LED will light.

When changing the battery, verify that the device is off, then open the battery cover.  The battery's negative pole (flat side) is on the spring-side of the battery compartment.

Charging Batteries

The batteries used by the tag and anchors include an integrated micro USB port.  The system includes a multiport charging dock that will allow all six batteries to be recharged at once.  Connect the batteries to the dock via the included micro USB cable.

The LED light on the battery will turn blue when the battery is fully charged.

To preserve battery life, disconnect the batteries once they are fully charged.  If storing the batteries for a long time, we recommend partially discharging the batteries (i.e. do not store at 100% charge) or this could permanently reduce the battery capacity.

Use a power supply that conforms to the UNE-EN60950-1:2007 standard, or damage to the batteries could result.

If the system is being stored for a long period of time, remove all batteries from the anchors and tag.

Note: Do not charge the battery while in use.

Battery Type

The batteries used by the InTrack system are Fenix ARB-L16-700U USB Li-ion 16340 and Fenix ARB-L18-2600U Li-ion 18650

Working temperature range:
 0ºC to 45ºC (32ºF to 113ºF)

Storage temperature range:
-20ºC to 60ºC (-4ºF to 140ºF) for up to 1 month
-20ºC to 30ºC (-4ºF to 86ºF) for up to 6 months

Note:  Batteries don't last forever!  Over time the capacity and performance will be reduced.  Replace only with these exact approved models.  The use of other kinds of batteries could cause malfunction, including the risk of fire and explosion.
